Avengers Was Appalling?

Greetings 616!!!

Thank you Hiro, haven’t had a reason to really rant about something up until now. As I have said about a million times now was the ignorance that was bred from movies like The Dark Knight, did anyone listen to me? Hell no! Everyone wanted to live in some fairy world as if it was just the view of a Marvel fanboy, because of course that is the only logical reason for hating on a movie like The Dark Knight. But then comes someone who actually has a part in the movie that publicly calls The Avengers “appalling”…. I mean you all can say everyone has their opinions, but that was something very incorrect and rude from my point of view.

F#ck You Wally Pfister

I mean come on, it’s one thing to have some disagreements about a movie like the Avengers, but to absolutely trash it the way Wally Pfister did is not only a huge middle finger to Whedon but Marvel fans alike. A movie that sold for 1.5 billion and as stated by Whedon was taken and inspired by the actual source material is appalling? Can anyone seeing the problem with that right there? Not only this but a movie that had great chemistry between the heroes which made them feel real and action scenes that were inspired from the comics and games and he says that all they were doing was showing off their set. Last I checked no one was ever paying attention to the set for it to have that much of an impact on anyone’s opinion of the movie.

What’s really important is storytelling. None of it matters if it doesn’t support the story. I thought “The Avengers” was an appalling film. They’d shoot from some odd angle and I’d think, why is the camera there? Oh, I see, because they spent half a million on the set and they have to show it off. It took me completely out of the movie. I was driven bonkers by that illogical form of storytelling.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the storytelling. They did what had to be done which was assemble the Avengers, that was the whole point of the movie which some people can get through their damn skulls to understand. They brought in a villain, they brought in the team, they put the team through trials to show interactions and they set the stage for something bigger to come in the sequel. Not only was the story taken from the comics, but even parts taken from the games which is something that he did for the fans enjoyment, that’s what a true fan of what he produces does. And something a friend pointed out that I almost overlooked was the last 20 minutes of TDKR which was horrible storytelling, so where he gets off I don’t even know.

Haters Gonna Hate

I’m gonna put this simply, you can defend what this guy says all you want, doesn’t bother me and I wouldn’t change my perspective. What fans have shown to do up to this point is snowflake shit like this. Taking anything to make a movie like TDK trilogy feel more special than it really is. I’m not attacking the films but I’m pointing out all the attitudes I see that in turn creates that animosity towards The Avengers and Marvel fans in general.

I mean someone even pointed out some flaws of TDK and how it was shot all wrong for action. He did this respectfully and made a lot of good points about it too unlike Wally Pfister here. This was something that was even posted here on IGN and got nothing but hate by fans who disagreed because there’s that mentality that the movies are perfect. You can all bullshit around and say that you aren’t but the way most talk about it that’s the way it seems to people like me.

Like I said, you can call me a Marvel fanboy for raging about this and I can say fuck you. This shit was unwarranted by an academy award-winning cinematographer and is very unbecoming when not a single person from the creative team of The Avengers had anything negative to say in return or about TDK movies. Whedon has said before that his directing style for Marvel’s The Avengers was heavily inspired by its source material – the comic books. That is what makes the movie great, it’s not “Whedon’s Avengers”, it’s the fan’s Avengers. Obviously he came off as biased and is most likely someone who hates superhero like movies, good for him, he can take what he said and shove it.
That is all.

Excelsior!

And stay tuned!
