Here’s an inside look at Marvel’s Ultimate Universe Panel. Where you get a look a what’s in store for them this year and in the future.
Bendis starts off by confirming that Spider-Man finally sees what his power and responsibility are, and once again puts on the uniform. Also points out that Spider-Man now isn’t the only young super hero. There are a bunch of them…you’re going to see a bunch of new heroes. We can already see the push towards this change as we are introduced to Ultimate Cloak and Dagger. There’s also a chance that Osborn may somehow return. How? We’ll just have to wait and see.
You do appreciate what Bendis has done with this Universe when you get a comment like this from him, “A writer’s job is to feel, and feel what other people are feeling too.”
Axel Alonso mentioned “I’m really proud of comic fans for moving past race, and knowing it’s more about character.” Then he goes on to say “Ultimates gives you extra latitude. Dead does mean dead.” We like people with voice and some swagger. The writers say there will not be a breather for anyone in the Ultimate Universe – make of that what you will!
Bendis talked about how Galactus is the craziest thing to ever happen to the Ultimate Universe. With Joshua Hale Fialkov saying how he’s just so happy to write Galactus. “He’s so great — he’s so cool!”.
The Ultimates Disassembled, by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Carmine di Giandomenico, will be available this October. This story kicks off with the Hulk. Joshua Hale Fialkov says “I’ve been really encouraged to tell the story I want to tell, and everybody goes crazy!”.
Also just announced is Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand, by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley, coming this November. “It stars everyone, including Miles Morales, who has the biggest storyline from his arc that we’re done so far.” — Bendis
From what is said, we should NOT be expecting there to be an end to the Ultimate Universe anytime soon.
