Warner Bros. has announced that Ben Affleck is set to star as Batman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel.

As he said;

“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some” said Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros. earlier today. “His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

“We are so thrilled that Ben is continuing Warner Bros.’ remarkable legacy with the character of Batman,” continued Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution President Sue Kroll. He is a tremendously gifted actor who will make this role his own in this already much-anticipated pairing of these two beloved heroes.”

The film will be penned by Snyder and Man of Steel screenwriter David S Goyer, and is currently slated to open worldwide on July 17, 2015. The sequel will reunite Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Laurence Fishburne, Amy Adams and Diane Lane.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I’m losing a lot of faith in Nolan and Snyder. Good thing Affleck can’t reprise his daredevil role here, but they might as well have gotten George Clooney again. On second thought, this choice is appropriate considering how much the first movie blew.

      Agreed, would have taken Clooney as well.
